Just watched Cokie Roberts interviewing Jean Carnahan. Mrs. Carnahan seems like a nice lady and she certainly deserves our sympathy, but it came through pretty clearly that she is still kind of shell shocked over the loss of her husband and son. It makes you wonder how effective she'd be in the Senate. Even if she wasn't going through this trauma, how is she qualified to be a Senator? The whole thing seems surreal.
