Democrats ought to look at it strictly on its merits of fairness and pro-family (most, although not all married people have families). Why the hell should married people be unfairly taxed...maybe it's because the D's think they make more money and are wealthy? Ya know they got two incomes after all. So when the D's talk about being pro-family and for fairness, watch what they do, not what they say.
