rofl, you are omnipresent... (I am having the same discussion with this guy on the JDSU thread... )

One persons opinion, but I believe what happened 10 years ago to Japan is they failed to invest in technology. The USA otoh had no other hope but tech since it was an emerging industry and our old industries like machine tools etc were too far behind to catch up. Japan made almost NO software investments for example... they are hindered by the japanese language as well as their management hierarchy and new industries just didn't happen for them. The US economy started to modernize to support the tech workforce - for example stock options as compensation for the flatter tech workforce and expanding H1B visas etc., these things were all part of building the high tech economy in the US that Japan DID NOT DO.

I am a fundamentalist so you might call this rationalization... in fact I expect you to do so... however in the end valuations mirror fundamentals I believe and it will take a fundamental shift in the US high tech economy to deflate strong tech stocks... I don't see any for now (of course these things are easier to see in hindsight).
