Hey mr. mark,
Yes, I was there last night, in the 4th row. In fact, Mike Tyson, his wife & one of his sons were about 30 seats away from me. He was mobbed the whole time, but between the fights permitted autographs, photos, questions, and the like in a way that I would not have expected being that for the past week he's hadn't a word to say to passersby and journalists alike.
Also on hand, interestingly, were a number of the actors from the HBO series "OZ," which struck me as kind of funny.
Regarding the screaming, well...as I described the situation to my brother-in-law (a first-timer) the NY fight crowds are, in general, decidedly less classy than you'd find in the sleazier casinos and strip clubs imaginable.
Anyway, my impressions about last night at the fights:
1. Mosely is the best fighter, ceteris paribus, in the sport today; 2. Hector Camacho is turning into Roy Jones Jr. 3. Derrick Jefferson has no shame.
Interesting thoughts about handicapping. Under that theory, who would Mosely fight? A slightly heavier fighter, who's slower and more powerful? A ligher figher, who's similarly fast but with less power?
