wayne, i disagree that ss is insurance. it is a total pyramid sham designed for the short term benefit of politicians that are no longer in office.

taking 15% of one's income, turning over $500k for the avg - yes avg - worker and repaying to the tune of $800 is legislative THEFT!

the ONLY right minded folks who like the system are getting more from it than they contributed - and those folks are few and far between.

if ss covered the elderly needy than you could argue it was an insurance program. that is EXACTLY what i think it should be. but it sure isn't now.
