Great info, Hcirteg. Thanks for being so detailed. I think the shorts, both admitted and on the sly, are starting to run scared now that the Qwest payment and the fear of OnStar delays have been put to rest. I was reading some posts over at RB. One "rocket scientist" especially was spouting off about how distracting it was going to be to listen to OnStar. Like it would be any more distracting than listening to the news (especially lately) or music, or talking to passengers, or on your cell phone, or containing the kids. Yeah, right.
And spouting off about how it was better to have a screen for GPS navigation than a voice. Talk about self serving. I guess looking at a screen would be safer than listening to a voice!?! What a hypocrite.
Btw, I do have a screen in my car, and it is fine. We are a visual people, but the car is the wrong place for visual distraction. I would be happy to have OnStar in lieu of the screen if it were offered. We may even see a combination of voice and visual develop at some point.
And I am not worried about the "lost signal" concerns voiced by Dwight. No accusation intended toward you, Dwight. The whole basis of web enabled phones, web enabled Palm Pilots, and even the mobile phone business itself is predicated on ever increasing coverage being created by these companies. They are succeeding on a monthly basis.
Thanks, again, for the positive news. It was needed after a frustrating October.
