Good point about voting. Voting is both a responsibility and a right in democracies... and it requires far less from today's citizens than the blood shed by earlier generations to win the ability to select, and perhaps replace, our leaders every few years.

Please look beyond candidates' tax promises. Ask yourself who offers the greatest probability of leading the nation in a manner that will benefit its citizens, both today and for future generations as well. Support those who possess ideas and convictions that match your own. Remember too, that these people are also human, and as such, have human limitations. Be willing to compromise a bit and support the candidate(s) with the best overall mix of strengths. Don't let one issue cloud your judgement --- But if that issue is closely intertwined with your unalterable principles, stand firm!

Cheers, PW.

P.S.

Since this is a Microsoft thread, many who participate here may vote for the candidate more favourable to MSFT shareholder interests.

P.P.S.

Unlike many who have strong feelings one way or the other, I think both Bush and Gore are good men and both would be good presidents. Although I'd rather see Bush win, I doubt a Gore win will spell the end of the nation: Perhaps the end of the nation's prosperity, but not the nation itself.
