Red Herring did a story the other day about VCs and the optics sector.

redherring.com

Kleiner Perkins partner Vinod Khosla mentioned his current investments are going to companies that can provide software or equipment to service providers that will help them utilize the bandwidth available on their networks and better utilize the fibers and wavelengths they've bought.

Companies mentioned are private, including IP Unity, SS8 Networks, Coreon, Sigma Systems Group, and ipVerse.

My question is what public companies are positioned to take advantage of this potential next shift in priority? Anyone have any ideas?

Phil
