Hi canuck-l-head! Glad to see you here...Speaking of oysters (know you weren't...but some did), the ONLY way I've liked them (before) was the way below...And every oyster lover, and hater equally, has "scarfed" up lots of these at parties....Fixed this way get's rid of the 'slippery' part.... I know this seems like an odd looking recipe, but it's really good! *:D

A NW Way with Oysters

2 or more jars of Oysters -
put on cake rack...
bake in slow oven 250 degrees for 2-3 hours....
till they are like shoeleather.

Take them off the cake rack,
put in saucepan with 1/2 butter, and 1/2 dry white wine, add a pinch of MSG...
simmer for 1/2 hour, slowly, till they plump back up.

That's it! Serve in a chafing dish, with a bit of butter and wine...add toothpicks for self serve.
