I don't see it that way at all. Iraq invaded Kuwait, an independent nation, one of strategic importance to our national interests, as well as an ally. The offensive against Iraq involved 30 countries, not just the United States, including Great Britain, France, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Egypt.

None of the United States armed forces were draftees. We went in there with a clear military objective, and achieved it. No one could argue that we were intervening in a civil war, it was a war of aggression against an ally.
