hi ronniron

well, i have aol on my machine but i rarely run it. in fact, i still have version4.0, not caring to incur any of the many problems i've read about with 5.0 and now 6.0. so i don't have a lot of aol experience to draw from to help you with your prob. i did used to have a problem with aol freezing when i tried to close a web page, and i developed a workaround that involved minimizing the window first, then closing it. eventually, aol provided one of their usual updates (that takes place on shutdown and is completed or installed upon restart), and the freezing prob disappeared.

i'm not clear on what mshtml.dll has to do with your prob. are you working off a hunch, or an error message? why that file? i have a 2.25mb mshtml.dll file version 5.00.2614.3500 on my win98se.

without knowing more about your situation, i would however suggest that you check to see if you have more than one of these .dll's. if so, you can try keeping the most recent one and renaming the other .abc or something similar just to get it out of the way. often two or more versions of the same .dll can be found on a computer and can cause lots of conflicts.

hope this helps. get back to us

:)
