All oil states will eventually accept euros - some in addition to dollars, others exclusively. That's been known for several years. What hasn't been known is the timing of this change.

It doesn't strike me as curteous that this is considered at a time when signs of a domestic slowdown are becoming harder and harder to overlook.

Question for the thread to ponder: Will a reversal of the USD revitalize the US multinationals? trigger a new equity bull? I think the answer is no to the latter, yes to the former. In select issues, even small shifts in the euro have massive effects on earnings. I recently calculated the impact on a falling euro on Nokia's earnings - roughly 15% under expectations had the euro not fallen. The converse will also hold true.

Just a whiff of hope for the euro and this one came out swinging.
