On a slightly different but related topic, I don't know how people can pin the deficit on the Dems, even if one includes the Congress. Our tremendous debt load has come into fruition in the 80s!
Btw, I am fairly apolitical, simply b/c I am quite cynical. However, fair disclosure dictates me to admit I am probably more liberal [not better or worse, to be sure ]than many here in SI <VBG>! My cynicism is that I believe schemers from the right and the left will inevitably use the loopholes to corrupt well intentioned legistrations for personal gain, leaving the truly deserved holding the bag
