Power amplifier from Infineon for Bluetooth and WLAN infineon.com Example of new application for integrated circuits based on HBT. In this case, InGaP HBT. I believe that Infineon has internal epi wafer capability, but they are the exception to the rule (at production levels). Infineon was formerly called Siemens Semiconductor Group; they took the new name in April 1999, ahead of their IPO this March. From Kopin's perspective, this represents an expansion of the market for power amplifier ICs. One can only imagine how many will be needed for Bluetooth. Perhaps it could even rival cellular as a market. Bluetooth will be ubiquitous, and there will be a whole variety of devices; it's just a question of how many will require high-efficiency amplification. WT
