by the time he saved the day they had switched to a big net long position. they were short ahead of the July/August '98 BK however, with what was at the time a record position too. in the spoos the commercials are an EXCELLENT indicator. they're not a good indicator in every market. note however, that they do not time their positions exactly. i.e., they will switch to net short a while before the market crumbles, and go net long well before the ultimate lows are reached, as their positions build slowly over time.
