<ot>Dear John - ok, this is my last post on the subject. Yes, Bush did snub McCain by suggesting he won and therefore he was the victor and the latter should pay homage to him. At least that is the impression I got from news coverage [I know, them left wing news media<VBG>!] John, one man should have one vote. Simply the Lt Gov of Tx is pro Bush, or the great state of TN might go for him in a big way means nothing to you and me! If I wanted to keep my cynical persona <G>, maybe Lt Gov of Tx wanted to be the Governor! But it would be unfair for me to make such an assertion [and I apologize to him even to think of such a possibility!] The point is that "40,000 Frenchmen can't be wrong" is such a laughable notion.
I ve not read Gore's book. So, maybe he is radical in his environmental thinking. However, I don't see his idealism [your "zealotry"] has caused any anti-business policy in the Clinton-Gore administration, so who is the pragmatic one? Speaking of the environment, I am for the restoration of the Everglade. the reduction of acid rain in the NE and the closing of the ozone hole over Northpole. I wish the next President would do more. If that makes me a zealot too, so be it <VBG>!
I don't know if Gov Bush is a uniter. To me, this is campaign rhetoric no difference from "I will fight for you." I was watching SNL last night. This "compassionate conservatism" reminds me of the "kinder gentler" buzzwords. I am not downplaying Gov Bush's track records [not that he has a lot to show] but my point is that I am skeptical of all political sloganeering.
Anyway, enough of this political stuff. But you are welcome to have the last words
