Dear JDN: From a female perspective, you left **the** most important thing off your list:
"... you got a great wife, the sun, the air, the mountains, inexpensive wine,
olives, cheeses, bread. What more does one need?"
Whether Italian, American, French, Canadian, etc. etc., rich or poor, a man **needs** a remote control.
My (Italian) neighbors across the road? The wife moved into their guest room this past spring so she could get a good night's sleep. Both she and her husband like to sleep with the TV on **but** her husband sleeps holding the remote control and even while asleep is able to channel surf--and turn UP the volume.
