I was in Texas last week. I asked a the Hispanics I saw if they liked Dubya. Many said 'yes'. Considering the support that Bush had from this group in the last gubernatorial election I was not surprised by this. However, when I asked why they liked Bush I was taken aback. Each one, independently, told me the same thing. They like Bush because he speaks Spanish! Now, I hardly find this a ringing endorsement of Dubya's ability to govern.
