I installed my first photovoltaic panel in 1983/4, but I'm not an engineer or specialist or anything like that..... That panel is still producing electricity, and I use it to power small fluorescent lights and radios, and if the power grid goes down for any reason, I can operate a small black & white TV and VCR also. Solar power has been viable for a fairly long time, but the problem has traditionally been the high cost, at least initially, of installing a good system. Yogi
