Product for the Global Market
Companies sign strategic outsourcing manufacturing alliance for the
GeoDiscovery Geode(TM) GPS module
OREM, UT, Nov. 6 /CNW/ - GeoDiscovery, a leading location-based product
and service company, today announced the selection of Electronics
Manufacturing Group (EMG), an electronics manufacturing services company, to
provide a full range of supply chain services and to manufacture the new
GeoDiscovery Geode GPS module for the global market.
The Geode is a revolutionary new GPS module that fits into the
Springboard(TM) expansion slot of any Handspring(TM) Visor(TM) handheld
computer. The Geode integrates rich Internet content and maps with Global
Positioning Systems (GPS) technology. The agreement will allow GeoDiscovery to
address the tremendous demand for the Geode GPS module by leveraging EMG's
ability to provide complete product procurement, production and final assembly
through its existing supply chain capabilities. Pre-production began at EMG's
Calgary facility in the third quarter of this year. EMG will deliver more than
$7.5M (Cdn) of products and services on the initial production build scheduled
to hit the marketplace in late fourth quarter and during early first quarter
