I guess now I understand your reasoning, but I don't agree at all.

The 200,000 people 'effected' are an absolute drop in the bucket. Have you any idea how huge the liberal population is in Washington? Did you see the WTO riots? Western Washington is so solidly in the democratic camp it isn't funny. I'm surrounded by more people with green hair and nose-rings than you can possibly imagine. Nothing against these people or their beliefs, I'm just pointing out that they aren't going to vote republican. There is no way in the world Microsoft could have done or said anything to change this.

They've painted a pretty grim picture. Any grimmer and they'd be accused of 'fear mongering'. Besides, the people that they would need to convince simply aren't listening.
