If the democrats had been solving social problems I would still be voting for them. But the deeds did not match the rhetoric and I began to examine other solutions. The republicans I know want our social problems solved. They just don't understand how you keep on doing the same tired, ineffective things decade after decade. Even more than that I can't for the life of me understand why people who say they care put up with the democrat crap - why they don't demand results. I have been impressed by how well welfare reform, vouchers and the like have worked. This gives me hope that similar solutions will work too.
