Audiotech Hires Additional Audiologists
Mr. Osvaldo (Ozzie) Iadarola reports,
KAMLOOPS, B.C. Audiotech Healthcare Corporation (AUD-CDNX) is pleased to announce that two additional audiologists have joined the company's clinic operations team.
Ms. Kim Burns has joined Audiotech's recently acquired Heritage Plaza clinic in Calgary as a full-time practicing Audiologist. Ms. Burns has been actively involved in the hearing industry since 1989 when she graduated from Dalhousie University with a Masters of Science in Human Communication Disorders specializing in Audiology. In addition to assuming responsibility for the clinic operations at the Heritage Plaza clinic, Ms. Burns will also oversee patient care at a soon to be opened satellite clinic in Alberta.
Mr. John D. Franks has agreed to join Audiotech's new flagship North Kamloops clinic as a full-time Audiologist. He will also be responsible for patient care at the company's satellite clinic in 100 Mile House, B.C. Mr. Franks graduated from Washington State University in May 2000 with a Master of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences (Audiology).
Commenting on the appointments of Ms. Burns and Mr. Franks, Osvaldo (Ozzie) Iadarola, President and CEO of Audiotech, said: "We are delighted that Kim and John have agreed to join the Audiotech team. In an environment where competition among clinic operators to find exceptionally qualified audiologists is increasing, Audiotech's recruiting program continues to enjoy success. Since our inception, we have focused on fostering an environment which provides our professional staff the tools and autonomy to grow both professionally and personally, while many of our competitors have forced rigid and restrictive administrative and operating procedures on their audiologists. The fact that Ms. Burns has decided to leave a major competitor to join Audiotech provides evidence that our strategy is working and that it will enable us to continue to attract highly-qualified hearing care professionals to our team in the future."
Audiotech currently owns and operates 15 audiology and hearing care clinics across Western Canada and the Northwest U.S. and is the third largest public consolidator of such clinics in North America.
