>>>Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway May Be Undervalued, Barron's Says

By Carol Wolf

Omaha, Nebraska, Nov. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Berkshire Hathaway Inc., the holding company controlled by billionaire Warren Buffett, may be undervalued when compared to rest of the insurance industry, Barron's said.

Berkshire gets 70 percent of revenue from insurance companies such as Geico Corp. Yet its shares have risen 15 percent this year while insurance-industry stocks have climbed more than 40 percent, Barron's said.

Berkshire's Class A shares, now at $64,500, may be worth $80,000, said Alice Schroeder, analyst at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. Insurance-industry profits are growing as companies get double-digit rate increases, Barron's said.

Some investors are hesitant to buy stock in Omaha, Nebraska- based Berkshire because of uncertainty surrounding who will replace the 70-year-old Buffett as chairman and chief executive, the paper said.<<<
