While going through some of VSTR's press releases, I came across this....

The agreement is a multi-year, multi-product commitment to launch various models of Samsung wireless Internet capable handsets using VoiceStream's all digital, national GSM network. The agreement will support VoiceStream's nationwide introduction of high-speed data applications using the GPRS system in 2001.

I had no idea that VSTR planned on implementing GPRS in 2001....it should be an interesting collision between 1xrtt and GPRS in the US. VSTR will definitely have the economic muscle behind them (DT) to make the contest interesting.

Curious as to your thoughts about the renewed speculation about US TDMA/iDEN operators switching to 1xrtt.....are you as sceptical as you have been in the past?
