In truth I never saw a puddle

It all depends where you are. Homes are flooded a few minutes walk from where I live in Surrey (about 30 miles south of London). Many roads are impassable - there are many cars trapped by floods in my area. Water is gushing from drains in places and manhole covers have burst open ready to wreck any cars that are driven through the water.

Many railway lines are closed due to landslides or flooding. Some cities have the highest water level for 400 years.

And the sun was shining this morning.
