Golf outside of Dallas did not work.

What happened was, I had a flight for $317 round trip. But I did not want to book it before I knew how much time to allot for golf. My Dallas friend did not get back to me with the information until the next day.

One day. One day and the flight went from $317 to over $2,000. Ridiculous, no? Now I've been to Dallas on short notice before and paid the $2K plus price tag but this time I was really ticked off. I've been to Dallas several times over the past year or two and $2,000 a throw finally got under my skin.

I suppose in retrospect I could have tried Priceline, or just blew the entire thing off. But I had committed so I determined to create a work-around. I'm taking the Metroliner to D.C., flying from there and then back again. Coming back from Dallas may make me miss the Metroliner, that's my only worry. Flying out of Dallas has always been iffy, the weather is so severe at times.

But I've solved any pain and anguish from all of this by taking the Metroliner first class.

I don't know what that means, so I decided why not. Maybe it means I get a seat in front of the locomotive, who knows. Anyway, instead of $2K plus it comes out to under $700 so I feel better. Plus, I'm sure I can relax more on the train than on the plane. The upshot however means that I have to leave early on Sunday, so no golf.
