SonicWALL Announces Next Generation Internet Security Appliances
Ten-Fold Performance Boost and Scalability at Same Price as Previous Models
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 2000--SonicWALL, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNWL - news), a leading provider of Internet security solutions, today raised the price/performance bar on Internet security solutions with new versions of its market leading SonicWALL Telecommuter, SOHO and XPRS Internet security appliances. Based on a high performance, 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet platform, the new models deliver faster firewall throughput, high performance encryption for VPN applications, and scalability to support new value added security services.

The next generation models are based on a new, proprietary hardware platform that combines a state of the art Toshiba RISC microprocessor with 10/100 auto-sensing Fast Ethernet interface ports to deliver high performance throughput. The increased memory of up to 4MB Flash and 8 MB RAM allows for expanded capability of delivering value-added security services. The new models include support for all advanced security access, security services and manageability as well as a configuration wizard that makes these products easy to deploy and manage.
