i don't know whether it is positive or not. Location is going to be the next hot thing in wireless. There are two ways to do location, one is within the network and the other is within the handset. Qualcomm bought a company called SnapTrack which does location within the handset. In order to do location within the handset, users have to buy a handset with GPS circuits. It is a more accurate measurement of location, but I do not believe that method will take off.

The other method, within the network I believe, will be the best method. There are alot of companies that do it this way. US Wireless (USWC) and Cell-loc (a toronto company that is public). There are also several private companies that do it this way too, e.g. true position.

Well, about Tero being wrong about CDMA, i disagree. Nokia is a great handset manufacturer of TDMA/GSM handsets. I believe their manufacturing efficiencies will translate to CDMA handsets too. I, personally, do not believe Nokia will purchase ASICs from Qualcomm.
