Don, I'll bet Dave Rickey was just as surprised as the analysts were at that inventory increase that CSCO mentioned last nite. The problem is: He won't know until it hits him that the folks higher up the food chain are slowing down. Why? Because folks higher up the food chain than CSCO are slowing down (and becoming fewer...). Suppliers are the last to know. Who's going to be buying all this stuff from him, BRCM, PMCS, TXCC, EXAR, VTSS, GALT, CNXT, etc. etc. etc.? Iceland, New Guinea and Madagascar won't be picking up the slack any time soon. Do you think all this stock is being dumped because everyone is confident (a la 1997-1999)? Nope. I think they're reading the cycle moving off the top onto the backside of the curve. Steve
