Re: Return on Invested Capital

I have also just read Andrew Chan's "The Mechanics of the Economic Model" over the weekend and have been trying to figure out how to make a spreadsheet to implement it (because I only currently have Microsoft Works spreadsheet). Sunday night I decided to give up and buy Excel, after seeing info on Madmarv's spreedsheet and also Howfool's spreadsheet posted on the Rulemaker strategy board for doing discounted cash flow valuation. (There are so many helpful posts at the Fool that seem to require Excel to work. It's the frustrating part of the Gorilla thing! I'm forced to buy another expensive Microsoft product.)

If I can learn to use Excel soon, I hope to be able to calculate ROIC for all my stocks. (Obviously at this point I don't know if that is manageable or not.) So I would be happy to volunteer to attempt it with at least I few of my stocks and would be grateful to have others to discuss it with.
