well, in that sense you are quite right. CSCO IS one of the more important stocks, and we certainly see masterful work every time the market gets rescued, no doubt about it.

that doesn't invalidate MY point about the futility of fighting primary trends however.

btw, you do know when US investors last felt that way? the best , and true buy point will come when they cease feeling that way...like in late '74.

i keep wondering about the wild, largely senseless sector rotation...it seems it is increasingly seen as permanent, something that will always work. as always, the more accepted it becomes, the less likely it will continue to work.

btw, the best performing sectors this year were the ones from which the public pulled its money: bonds, and utilities. the worst performing sectors were the ones receiving the lion's share of the public's money. conclusion: the public is a) wrong, and consequently, b) sitting on considerable paper losses this year.
