Now it gets interesting, with the polls still open out here in WA.

Our state has always been a footnote in past elections (with our meager 11 electoral votes), but this year perhaps the game won't be over until we finish voting. My wife and I are about to go vote, as our polls won't close for another hour or so, we have lots of time to decide. And if it gets down to just two votes in WA making the entire difference in this election (one way of the other), you can blame it all on us. <g> As "Independents" we are really torn.

1. We like Bush...
because we want to keep all our unregistered guns.
2. We like Gore...
because he would better protect the environment.
3. We like Bush...
because we want to keep our internal combustion engines.
4. We like Gore...
because we believe in a woman's right to choose.
5. We like Bush...
because we want to be able to invest some of our Soc.Sec. funds.
6. We like Gore...
because he will encourage development of alternative fuels.
7. We like Bush...
because we hope to someday be in the top one percent.
8. We like Gore...
he admitted to inhaling in his wild n'crazy days.
9. We like Bush...
because our cigarette taxes won't go up as much.
10. We like Gore...
because we don't want sanctioned prayer in public schools.
11. We like Bush...
because he would be more fun to have a beer with.
12. We like Gore...
because he invented the Internet.

What a huge dilemma for us.
One problem for the nation, if it comes down to just us and Oregon. We're a little laid back way out here in the West, and I don't believe our counties in WA are required by law to report the absentee votes until the day before Thanksgiving. <g>

Ah heck...perhaps we'll just go for Nader.
Somehow we'll all survive this, and life will go on. <g>

Roger :)

PS. TradeGreg, I feel your post #reply-14728598 was the best
and most objective political statement made this entire year in all of SI! Oh..and what are the odds of Strom Thurmond becoming President again? <ggg>
