What by making guns illegal?

I have never been anti gun-control, but I
fail to see how ignoring a problem "bolsters
your case" with anyone. My view has been that
the technology exists where a gun manufacturer can
see where every gun goes, or the authorities for that matter. Trouble is the authorities, even when incompetent,
just blame the legal gun owners when things go wrong.
They see it a an "easy solution" for them. Illegal guns are just another problem they have yet to solve. It's a bit like the 1920's prohibition period.

When I had a recent break-in in my house (while we were at home), I called the police. They took there time turning up, so I called a second time. I asked them where they were now that they were supposed to protect us 'cause we didn't need any guns. The desk officer answered it wasn't the Police that took away guns it was the government (or voting public). The police were very happy to see guns banned though, and were not entirely blameless where things did go wrong in issuing licenses.

"Sweep it under the carpet" is what I see.

The gun problem is worse in Britain then it ever has been.
(read the link) It's now fashionable here to target ANY gunowner as being essentially a criminal. There is even work underway to ban air pistols/ rifles. There is no stopping the lunacy except when the average person wakes up and realises it is just that. ...lunacy.

So whats your real answer?

Ban the movie makers?
