Now, if u really want to see how many patents Qualcomm, or any company for that matter has, go to this site every Tuesday (that's when patents are published)http://164.195.100.11/netahtml/search-bool.html
and type in the company's name,e.g. Qualcomm, and under field, go to Assignee....Also, select all years.
I don't want to get into some contest where everyone now looks and says company X is better b/c they have more patents than company Y. Remember, it is not the shear number of patents, but whether or not they are worth soemthing.
remember, in order for Nokia to make that CDMA phone, they had to license a patent that was issued in 1990, thus affording Qualcomm 17 years of coverage from issue date. All patents filed after June 1995 are afforded 20 years from filing date......
