<What is the law/rule for keeping polls open well after the mandated close?>

Darn good question. In the blurry hours, I had heard that there was a federal judge that ordered some polling stations to remain open, though the location didn't sink in at the time. Was this Florida?

I can recall from past elections, there were instances where polling stations were kept open beyond the scheduled hour due to mechanical problems and/or long lines and those were uncontested. But these cases were not in Florida. Guess it's time, again, to dust off the Florida laws that no one thought would ever apply.
