High-Technology Veteran Roger Barnes Joins geoTouch As President & Chief Executive Officer PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 2000--geoTouch today announced Roger A. Barnes as its President & Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Barnes is a proven leader of several successful start-up companies and has extensive public company and initial public offering experience. geoTouch is a location-based information system for business applications - delivered through Internet and wireless devices. The product is easily customizable to a number of vertical applications. The company's initial focus is in the area of Real Estate, Sales Force Automation and Fleet Management.
Mr. Barnes comes to geoTouch with over 25 years of business experience, primarily in the high technology industry. Most recently, he was Chief Financial Officer of NASDAQ-listed Cylink Corporation. Previously, he was Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Evolving Systems, where he led that company's initial public offering. Mr. Barnes was also President & Chief Executive Officer of Formida Software, and Director of Technology Corporate Finance for Arthur Anderson. Mr. Barnes began his career with KPMG.
As a key executive responsible for grooming start-ups into successful public corporations, Mr. Barnes has over the years acquired valuable experience in working closely with venture capitalists as well as private and public investors. His experience has been augmented by his own tenure as Senior Vice President of a Silicon Valley based venture capital firm.
