Gus,

Let me tell you, what we are still experiencing here is something out of a science fiction novel thriller movie. UNBELIEVABLE is too mild of an expression.

In the beginning, the "networks" (bunch of fools doing their idiotic exit polls) gave Florida to Gore and it was evident that he will go on to win it. Then around 10 or 11, they reneged on that and started calling it "too close to call" (this is THE buzzword here). So then, it became a real nail biter as the difference in the votes in Florida got smaller and smaller (from 100,000 up for Bush it went down to 70k, 50k, 20k) but then with about 94% complete results Bush widened the lead again to about 50k and it appeared to be over for Gore and that is when the "networks" gave it to Bush. That is when I called it a night around 3am and went to bed. I told my wife, Bush is President to her disatisfaction (she voted for Gore, after my repeated tries to convince her to vote for Nader).

So, I wake up this morning expecting all the Republican celebrations, etc. And what the heck do I get? The "networks" reneged on their decision AGAIN and now it is back to the "too close to call", something like 1400 votes in Florida. I think Gillette shoud do an ad that goes something like "our razor shaves it closer than the US election"<ggg>

So, recount going on, absentee ballots, overseas ballots, it may be a while. But I think Bush has sneaked in to the White House.

If he has won it, all I know is foreign policy would be much better than it was under Clinton. As far as domestic policy, I hope he doesn't go crazy with taxcuts. Tax cuts are fine as long as spending is reduced but the hogs in Washington are addicted to getting much fatter all the time.

Again, what a remarkable election!

I wish Nader got 5% but at 3% is a very good start to build a strong 3rd party in the future.

One thing for sure, Buchanan has failed big time and will retire from politics, thank God!

Sue the networks for "pain & suffering" damages, where are you Johnie Cochran"?...LOL

George
