I would be surprised -- and disappointed -- if the Gore folks contest the validity of the electoral college system. I do think, however, that things are far from over in Florida. While I am not an expert in Florida election law, it could take days to count contested ballots -- the ballot of someone who voted in the wrong precinct but was in fact entitled to vote, or folks who requested absentee ballots but ended up voting at the polling place instead of using their absentee ballot, or folks who were registered but for one reason or another didnt make on to the precinct roster. I don't see how this stays out the courts.
