In reference to your last paragraph, ... months ago when the Gore campaign suggested to Clinton and his power brokers, to relax and not get too involved in the upcoming election ... my first thought was, ... that move will come back to bite Gore in the "tush", ... how big a bite, ... only time will tell, ... Clinton, still has alot of power around him
