Longonfiber: Even though My Pal Al apparently was the choice of the people but not the choice of the states, I agree with you: No need to overhaul the Electoral College. It has served this country well for 200 years. Going to a strict popular vote nationwide would open up a whole new set of problems. Anyway, if we dropped the Electoral College, it would limit our discussion possibilities on this thread. Re: "(4) George W. Bush will work quickly to unite the division." Nah. I doubt that'll happen.
