<ot>Dear John - maybe you ve your reasons for your gripe, so I am not taking that away from you. However, simply b/c one has been there all one's life doesn't give oneself the privilege to say "I am a REAL something." If so, most of the people in the US has to pack the bag and go *home* In the 70s, I ve traveled a lot. I ve seen how the Native Americans were treated in the West and South West, let's just say they were treated as bad as, if not worse than, the African Americans in the South in the 50s and 60s. Do we really know what injustice is? And they are the REAL AMERICANS!
Personally, I don't buy this argument [but a usual counter argument for dictators aboard to stop Americans criticizing them,] but just want to make a point. Personally, I believe the US is evolving into a more perfect union. However, union means more than one.
Finally, like it or not, aging is one of those equal oppty phenomena. I don't know about you, but I do want some respect [especially when I choose to retire to FL <VBG>!]
best, Bosco |
