JD,

Relax... Businessmen, industrialist, bankers etc. the producers, they are who make things happen. Politicians are a drag, snotbags, you name it. They are hyenas that pick up the leftovers and claim it was THEM who made the difference.

I think these are great news. Gridlock is good.

As an aside, and not attempting to be incendiary, Just my opinion. I think that the Clinton years (Republican Revolution etc), and the results of this election ought to tell the Republican party a CLEAR message :

Can the religious extremists.

I believe that if the Republicans would have been a little more "to the center" (in the religious issues), they would have won without dispute and without the need of recounts etc.

A split Congress puts me at ease, (I think), so at this point it does not matter if Gore or Bush win, (even with the VP vote, in the case of a Bush victory), "compromise" will become the key word.

Many of the members of the "so called minorities" would vote republican if it was not for the extreme positions in the religiously related issues.

In many instances they view such positions as "government intrusion" in their [very] private lives.

In both cases (either a democratic or republican controlled government), the potential policies seem scary either way.

Now... please do not mention Nader as President...

THAT is even scarier... -g-

Relax and go smell the roses, you still live in a great country. IN SPITE of the damned politicians.

just my opinion.

p.s. I think it would be a good idea to take a look at the population size and growth rate (particularly in the west, south west AND Florida), of the Hispanic "minority"... in a few more years the word "minority" will be re-defined -g-
