I agree with no mandate. A politically weak president (whoever wins Fla) and a closely divided Congress hopefully means Roe v Wade is safe, moderate Supreme Court appointees, no silly Flag-burning or School Prayer constitutional amendments, budgetary restraint, and bipartisan approaches to tax cuts and Social Security reform. A generally pleasing result, IMO.
