* MONY Group (MNY) booked an operating income of $1.13, rising from the year-ago earnings of $1.11. However, excluding profits of $46 million, due to the firm's venture capital investment sales, MNY earned just $0.51. The First Call/Thomson Financial consensus estimate predicted earnings of $0.53. MONY Group said that is on track to meet its 2000 financial goals. The First Call mean forecast predicts a profit of $4.77.
