One small improvement to your plan, KyrosL: Instead of an outside investor swooping up 26% of the company for 260M$, give each s/h the right to buy an additional share for 1$. That would raise 300M$+, and be less dilutive to the s/h. The rights would be tradeable, for those who couldn't pony up an additional investment. IMO, G* with 300M$ new cash and no debt should have a market cap of well over 10B$, or 7+ dollars per newly diluted share. Not a great outcome for long term holders, and not one managment should be proud of, but better than many easily foreseen alternatives.
