Last evening the trading of the Big Boys (and Girls) in the futures arena told a story. There was a spike reversal. Can you guess why and when it happened? I would not have wanted to be short at that moment. If one held their position until today they were rewarded. :-) I am not a Constitutional expert but there are issues that need to be resolved. What if Bush wins the election? Gore can then address the problem with the ballots and the Buchanan problem. Never far from the mind of anyone is the fact that the Governor is the brother of the candidate. The other problem is that some of the "college" has the right to vote their own conscience. So even if Bush wins he could possibly still lose when the voting takes place. Enough uncertainty and potential for crisis to make the market jittery. If I remember correctly the market wasn't too jittery during the impeachment crisis. It is not the crisis itself that causes the problem. It is the tenor of the market psychology at the time of the crisis that plays the role and we are in for some wild swings.
