Re. Nader, Buchanan, Phillips, and a Libertarian whose name I don't recall---our Constitution allows a person to run for President providing certain guidelines are met.

(Perhaps someone who knows those guidelines can respond.)

All candidates met those guidelines and participated. Arrogance---no---each had a messages to carry, statements to make which neither the Dems or Repubs candidates would tackle.

By their running, they sent a message about their concerns to the two major parties----those concerns will be noticed by Congress and the new President.

West Virginia--- Effectively, the coal industry was killed when reforestation was mandated by the federal government about 25 years ago. W. Va. then turned to tourism with the development of National and State Parks.

Bush recognizes the economic value of W. Va.'s coal which can be one of the resources to make the USA less dependent on foreign oil and gas .

With advances in technology, coal mining can be safer now for the miners, the environment and families who must by necessity live in or near the areas mined.

Economically, W. Va. is a poor state --- while being rich in natural resources and in the people who live there. Bush has given hope; whereas, all Democratic President's including Clinton have failed to help W. Va. or follow through on promises made to help W. Va.

Is it any wonder that W. Va. went for Bush!
