The material we have licensed from OSU Center for Mapping is their Digital Map Conversion Process Technology (DMCP). The process is briefly described in the news release from June 26th, 1996 at the Sedona GeoServices Website.
Striking while the iron is hot is the name of the high technology game. If you got it, you lose it if you don't use it. That is the main reason that marketing and sales are the biggest most important thing the company can be doing right now...while they develop next generation applications and technologies.
There is a sound marketing foundation in place with the partnerships with Sybase and Oracle and others (does anyone know if the IBM partnership is still real? Scangraphics was a partner for several years starting in '85, but info is scarce...) and time will see this work. Inhouse sales and marketing, the stuff we don't hear about and read about until large contracts are signed or a good quarter comes in, that's the building on the foundation. I firmly believe the company is focused on this. After all, investors aren't the only folks holding shares in this company. The insiders and other employees who hold shares will want to sell this stuff and those who should but won't will not have a pleasant time when they go to work.
With a conference call in less than 24 hours, a lot of these questions might be answered. It's exciting to know the company has the courage to answer questions especially after a dismal quarter. They are not historically a company to hold conference calls so, in a sense this one isn't neccesary. The stock wouldn't take a hit if nothing more were said like it would if this were more widely followed by Wall Street and a conference calls were expected.
The folder on AOL for SCNG has been filled up for three weeks and, for some reason, another one won't open. I got one going tonight only it's under the As-Az section. Hopefully they'll move it to where it belongs. If you don't post here, post there.
