I think the settlers are a deep part of the problem. Many are belligerent zealots, fanatics willing to raise their children in dangerous circumstances (though not giving them carfare or transporting them into the line of fire, it must be acknowledged.) They must be relocated.

Unlike the PA, the Israeli government, btw, is not offering a sum equal to the amount it would take a wage earner several years to save up for each death of a child. The settlers are not telling their children that they will be national heroes and martyrs who will go straight to Paradise if they get killed throwing rocks at Palestinians.

However, Del: The bolded part of your quote refers to the scenario of the children of all Israelis having to risk their own lives for the settlements -- when they are adults. It is simply anticipating that unless the settlements are removed, the next generation will also live in danger because of the necessity to defend them, and asking whether Israelis are really ready to die and perhaps have their children die some day too, to preserve these settlements.

You have misunderstood if you think it is the poor, pitiable Palestinian mothers for whom I have contempt.
